Sparkle nos presenta su Geforce GTX580

Esta misma semana, se ha levantado el NDA que pesaba sobre las gráficas basadas en el nuevo chip de Nvidia.

Tras el poco éxito en ventas de la GTX480, Nvidia decidió pulir los errores que habían dado fama de poco eficiente a la anterior GTX480. De todos era sabido que las GTX480 tenían un elevadísimo consumo eléctrico, ademas de generar un inmenso calor. Aunque bien es cierto que su rendimiento era ligeramente superior a su directa competidora la ATI 5870, pero sustancialmente más cara.

Para esta nueva GTX580 Nvidia anunciaba una redistribución de los transistores en la GPU y una mejora del proceso de fabricación, lo que debería dar como resultado una gráfica más energéticamente eficiente, con muy buen rendimiento y menores problemas de temperatura. Ademas de permitirles ajustar un poco más los precios para hacer frente a las ventas de ATI/AMD.

Hemos podido leer en algunos medios privilegiados que ya han tenido la oportunidad de probar esta nueva gráfica, que parece que lo han conseguido, sobre todo en lo que a temperaturas y rendimiento respecta.

Por nuestra parte esperamos poder mostrar a nuestros lectores en breve una review de la que esta llamada a ser la nueva reina de los gráficos de nuestro propio "Puño y letra"

De momento lo que si podemos mostraros son las características de la GTX580 que el ensamblador Sparkle, reciente colaborador de MODPC, nos ha presentado.

explore performance tweaking ! Vapor Chamber Technology is based on the same principles as heatpipe technology. A liquid coolant is vaporized at a hot surface, the resulting vapor is condensed at a cold surface then the liquid is returned to the hot surface. The recirculation process is controlled by a wick system. The coolant is water – but because the chamber is evacuated to a very low pressure, the vaporization process occurs at a much lower temperature than normal boiling point.
The complex wick arrangement inside the module controls the flow of water and water vapor so that the system can be used in any orientation. The GeForce GTX 580 GPU heats Vaporization Wicks. Working fluid, pure water, is easily vaporized due to the extreme low pressure (<104 Tor or less). Water vapor moves easily through the vacuum until it meets the condensing wick – adjacent to the cooled surface – and turns back to a liquidstate. The liquid is then absorbed by the Transportation Wick by capillary action and moved back towards the Vaporization Wick. The Vapor Chamber Cooling Design of the SPARKLE GeForce GTX 580 Graphics Card is much more efficient than a copper heatsink at carrying away the heat because the whole area effectively transfers heat at the same rate.

Lo cierto es que sobre el papel la nueva gráfica de Nivida tiene un poder gráfico inedito hasta la fecha, y por los primeros resultados que ya se dejan ver por algunas paginas internacionales parece que cumplen lo prometido. Más rendimiento, Más eficiencia,más diversión. Podríamos decir que parece cierto, pero tendremos que comprobarlo personalmente, hasta entonces solo podemos especular y jugar con lo que ya hemos visto en las primeras reviews completas.
Esperamos ver pronto la reacción de ATI, aunque en estos casos quien golpea primero golpea 2 veces.

Quien esté interesado ya se pueden adquirir estas GTX580 en algunas tiendas OnLine, aunque presumiblemente aún con ciertos problemas de Stock, y a un precio de casi 600€.
